Baroque Biographies

Dear all,

here's this week's cultural catch:

Worth Listening To
An album that has distinctly exceeded my expectations: 'Venice,' Anastasia Kobekina's debut on Sony Classical. My recommendation: get yourself a Bellini and enjoy this brilliant baroque jam session!
(Current) top tracks:
Antonio Vivaldi: Cello Concerto in A Minor, RV 419 (Track 2)
Barbara Strozzi: Che si può fare? (Track 13)
Johann Sebastian Bach: Concerto in D Minor (after Marcello) (Track 9)

Worth Watching
Happy 50th birthday, Mr. Robbie Williams! Having recommended his Netflix documentary before, I still very much endorse it. This weekend, I've been engrossed in the 2005 HBO series "Rome", almost finishing season 1, which vividly brings to life the era of Julius Caesar.

The Acceleration of Addictiveness, first published in 2010, offers insights that resonate even more in 2024. I wonder if Paul Graham, the legendary tech investor, has yet embraced an iPhone ...

All my best -
