Bergson & Bruges

Dear all,

This week's edition is a vibrant blend of music and art, seasoned with a dash of cinematic charm and delicious food from the heart of Bruges.

Worth Checking Out

If you're an avid reader of this publication, you've heard me rave about Munich’s new cultural center, the Bergson. The opening is being celebrated with "Bergson's Rise", the first in-house production featuring the Jazzrausch Bigband, which I highly recommend. I'm looking forward to the opening of the first part of their gallery space in collaboration with the König Galerie on May 7. My personal musical highlight in their May program will definitely be Francesco Tristano's double bill on May 25 & 26. Don't miss it if you love piano music, Bach from various perspectives, and electronic music!

Worth Watching

My main preparation for my time in Bruges, where I'm currently enjoying a profound professional speed dating experience - aka a conference - was rewatching the 2008 classic "In Bruges" starring Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell, for which the latter received a Golden Globe award. Not part of the film, and notable not just for its alliterative name, a great place to have breakfast in Bruges is a spot called "That's Toast".
