Cinema Crescendo

Dear all,

here’s some brand-new music and a movie from a few years ago for you to enjoy.

Worth Listening To

This week, I’ve been listening repeatedly to David Orlowsky’s new album Petrichor. The superb clarinetist is one of the few people with synaesthetic perception, and in on his new release he translates a wide variety of odours into music. Check it out!

Worth Watching

Nine is a dazzling adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, itself inspired by Federico Fellini’s iconic film . Starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the brilliant but troubled Italian director Guido Contini, the film explores his struggles with creativity and the many women in his life, blending visually stunning musical numbers with emotional complexity. With a star-studded cast including Penélope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench, and Nicole Kidman, Nine delivers captivating performances and show-stopping songs. It’s a wonderful blend of Broadway flair and Italian cinema magic!

All my best -
David
