Music & Musings

Dear all,

here are this week's recommendations for you:

Worth Checking Out

I'll be in Amsterdam in less than two weeks and can't wait to finally experience FUSE as well as the LGT Young Soloists live in concert. Definitely catch these two fantastic ensembles on stage as soon as you can and listen to their albums on the streaming service of your choice!

Worth Listening To

For no particular reason, but all the louder playing on my speakers this week: Puccini's monumental Messa di Gloria, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Chorus, Roberto Alagna and Thomas Hampson under the baton of Sir Tony Pappano. A beautiful album, also featuring Puccini's Preludio Sinfonico and Crisantemi.

Worth Thinking About

"It's so simple: you spend less than you earn. Invest shrewdly. Avoid toxic people and toxic activities. Try to keep learning all your life. And do a lot of deferred gratification. If you do all those things, you are almost certain to succeed. And if you don't, you'll need a lot of luck. And you don't want to need a lot of luck. You want to go into a game where you're very likely to win without having any unusual luck." Charlie Munger

All my best -
David
